Walter John Weber, age 87, rural Akron, died at 12:50 a.m. Sept. 23, 2012 in his residence.
He was born Nov. 10, 1924 in Rochester of Ralph and Ruth (Nellans) Weber. After moving from Rochester, he lived in the Akron community for 57 years. Walter graduated from Rochester High School in 1942. On Dec. 19, 1948, he married June Bowers in Rochester. Walter was a lifelong farmer, raising Holstein cows and formerly worked at Sealed Power in Rochester.
Survivors include his wife, June E. Weber; five children: Sandra (spouse Max) Blocker of North Manchester, Louanne Weber of Akron, Patty (spouse Steve) Betten of Wabash, David (spouse Susan) Weber of Akron, and Debra (spouse Darryl) Peters of Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur Weber; a sister, Margaret (Weber) Toomire; and a grandson, Scott Sechrist.
A private visitation and graveside service for the family was at the Earl-Love Funeral Home on Sept. 25, 2012 with Brad Eckerly officiating.
Burial was at the IOOF Cemetery, Rochester.
