Peggy Ann Wiley, age 82, Mason Health Care Center, Warsaw, died on April 15, 2013 at 8:28 a.m. at the Center where she had resided for almost three years.
She was born on April 11, 1931 in Connersville, Indiana to LeRoy and Odessa (Bacon) Burns. She attended Connersville High School and married John H. Gansert on April 20, 1947 in Connersville and moved to Warsaw, Indiana in 1962. He died on April 11, 1968. She then married Wayne A. Wiley on December 15, 1973 in North Webster Indiana. He died on December 27, 2010.
Peggy worked at DePuy in Warsaw in the packaging and receiving/shipping department for 25 years and retired in 1998. She was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Church. She loved to bake cakes and make mints. Collecting salt and peppershakers was her hobby. Her grandchildren were very important to her and helping others.
Surviving Peggy are (3) daughters: Jeri Hunt of Cicero, Penny (spouse Richard) Thomas of Warsaw, Johnna Knisely of Warsaw; (3) stepchildren: David (spouse Linda) Wiley of Warsaw, Rex (spouse Loraine) Wiley of Arcadia, Karen (spouse Scott) Schuster of Fishers; (2) brothers: Bob (spouse Ardy) Burns of California, Rod (spouse Doris) Burns of New Jersey; (1) sister: Sharon Jones of Riverside, California; (1) brother-in-law: Bill Lumia of New Jersey; (10) grandchildren, (18) great-grandchildren, (8) step-grandchildren.
Preceding Peggy in death are her parents, husband John H. Gansert, husband Wayne A. Wiley, brother David Burns, sisters, Betty Gansert, Patty Lumia, Susie Burns and her precious Dalmatian dog, Hoosier.
Funeral services for Peggy will be Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester Street, Akron at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Mike Settles of the Claypool United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Oswego Cemetery in Oswego, Indiana.
Visitation is Friday, April 19, 2013 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
