Patricia Ruth Horn, age 85 (formally of Akron) died on November 26, 2019 at 4:51 p.m. at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana where she was a resident.
She was born on May 31, 1934 in Alexandria, Indiana to Charles M. and Martha E. (Baker) Malicoat. Patricia married Jack E. Horn June 10, 1951 in Alexandria, Indiana.
Patricia lived in the Akron area for 33 years before moving to Peabody Retirement Community 1-1/2 years ago with her husband. She worked approximately 12 years at Johns Manville, in Alexandria, Indiana as a factory worker. She then worked at Heckman Bindery for 13 years and retired from there.
Patricia enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and reading books. She crocheted many gifts for her family, friends and for special occasions such as weddings and baby showers. All who received the gifts, treasured them very much. She enjoyed having visitors and seeing all of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Jimmy Swaggart Media Church.
Surviving Patricia are: (3) children: Timothy A. (spouse Debbie) Horn of Alexandria; Daniel E. (spouse Melody) Horn of Tipton; Julie R. (spouse Mike) Smith of Claypool; (8) grandchildren: Lindsay (Jason) Smith, Brandon (Lisa) Dotson, Nick (Erin) Smith, Jordan Smith, Madira (Eric) Markley, Miriah (Brian) Burnell, Jason Horn and Crisi Young; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild
Preceding Patricia in death are her parents, her husband Jack E. Horn (deceased November 10, 2019) and her brother Samuel A. Malicoat.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana 46910.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Frank Whitaker. Burial will be in the Akron IOOF Cemetery, Akron, Indiana.
