Oma Manns
Oma Manns, age 87, 808 E. Main Street, Akron, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Hickory Creek, Rochester, where she had resided for 2 -1/2 months.
Oma was born in Prestonsburg, Kentucky on May 21, 1927 to Charles and Lula (Dotson) Hackworth. Growing up, she shared her childhood with three sisters and seven brothers.
On February 14, 1946, in Prestonsburg, KY, she married Bradie Manns. They shared 58 years together, living 52 years of her life in Akron.
Oma was a housewife and worked at Chamberlain Products for 16 years. Raising four children, she made sure that they had everything they needed. She enjoyed taking walks and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and special friends, Phyllis, Bonnie and Rosie.
Surviving Oma are three children: (1) son, DeWayne (Carolyn) Manns of Yantis, Texas; (2) daughters: Delores Dague of Akron and Diann (Wayne) Grube of Rochester, (10) grandchildren, (24) great grandchildren, (3) great-great grandchildren, (1) brother-in-law, (2) sister-in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Bradie Manns (2004), son Dewight Manns (2009), (3) sisters and (7) brothers.
Her funeral service is Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Thad Stewart of Omega Church and Old Cross Roads Church officiating.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Akron IOOF Cemetery.
