Michael O. Jernigan

Michael Jernigan, age 75, of rural Rochester, Indiana died on December 21, 2025 at 12:48 p.m. at his residence.

Michael O'Patrick Jennings Jernigan was born on February 25,1950 in Rochester, Indiana to Bryan Jernigan and Ann Olevia "Lee" Goody Jernigan.  He graduated from Rochester High School in 1969.

Michael married Cindy Lou Ginther on August 16, 1969 in Rochester, Indiana.  They lived most of their life in Rochester, Indiana, since 1977 moving there from Akron, Indiana.

He was employed by Accumet in Rochester, Indiana in maintenance for 42 years, retiring from there in 2010.  One of his favorite things to do was his interest in guns.  Target practicing, researches, statistics and data about guns.

Surviving Michael, is his wife: Cindy Jernigan of Rochester, IN; (1) son: Chad Jernigan (spouse Dana) of Plymouth, IN; (4) grandchildren: Kaleb, Drew, Noah, Kaitlyn; (1) great-grandchild: Kayden

Preceding Michael in death are his parents, daughter Candy Francis, (2) brothers: Joe and Robert Jernigan; (4) sisters: Pat Utter, Barb Geller, Shirley Allred and Midge Ramsey.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date with burial in the Athens Cemetery.
