Mary Louise Groninger, age 81 of rural Akron, died at 2:32 p.m. Sept. 22, 2012 in her residence.
She was born May 30, 1931 in Wabash County to Roy L. and Faye M. (Baker) Clark. On Sept. 20, 1950, in North Manchester, she married Gordon L. Groninger, who survives.
Mary Louise lived in the Fulton County area most of her life. She graduated from Chester Township High School, North Manchester in 1950 where she was a cheerleader. She was a homemaker and worked at the Heckman Bindery, North Manchester and Akron Elem. School as a cook and drove a school bus for approximately 15 years. Early in her life she attended Akron United Methodist Church. She was a great shopper and loved to shop with her friends. She kept a nice home and her hands were full with four children to raise with her husband. She was always in the kitchen and loved to cook.
Also surviving are four children: Danny L. (and spouse Karen) Groninger and Gregory L. (and spouse Annette) Groninger, all of rural Akron; Nancy A. (and spouse Howard) Davies, Ross, Ohio; and Timothy L. Groninger, Fort Wayne; a sister, Sandra Heaston, Huntington; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Gordon, Dewayne and Kenneth Clark; and four sisters: Virginia Curless, Donnabelle Hoffman, Jean Mylin and Helene Quick.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home before the service. Burial will be at a later date.
