Mary Buck

Mary J. Buck, age 76, rural Akron, died on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, Indiana at 8:35 p.m.

Mary Jean Buck was born on November 17, 1947 in Evanston, Illinois to Elmer and Helen (Tankka) Berol.  She graduated from Parkview High School in 1965, Jackson, Michigan.

Mary married Shannon Buck on May 25, 1968 in Jackson, Michigan.  She has lived in Akron, Indiana since 1976.  She and her husband owned and operated South Side Video in Akron for 20 + years.  She was a housewife and homemaker.

Mary attended the Akron Church of God for 47 years.  She enjoyed being in the Women’s Group and helped with the Food Pantry.

Surviving Mary is her daughter: Lori j. Fitzpatrick of Akron, IN and companion James Kats; daughter-in-law Heather Buck of Flowery Branch, GA; (3) grandchildren: Mary Katelyn Buck, David Fitzpatrick and Jacob Kats; (2) step-grandsons: Lukas Kats and Joshua Kats; (3) great-grandchildren: Macie, Milo and Chloey; (5) step-great-grandchildren: Macie, Airreona, Bryson, Kathleen and Olivia.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents; husband Shannon (2015); son Bryon (2020); step-grandson Dylan (2020); (2) brothers: Bruce and Bill Berol; (2) sisters: Susan Clark and Shirley Ahlers.

Services will be announced later.  Burial will be in the Akron IOOF Cemetery in Akron, Indiana with Reverend Mandy Nellans of the Akron Church of God officiating.
