James Richard “Dick” Moore, age 62 of 9502 Summer Ridge Place, Indianapolis, died at 3:00 p.m. April 30, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Rochester to Budd and Emma (Moon) Moore. In 1978 in Lucerne Christian Church, he married Karen Kay Douglass, who survives.
He moved to Indianapolis from Rochester 3-1/2 years ago. He graduated from Akron High School in 1968 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, South Bend, in 1982. He entered into military service in the U.S. Army on May 11, 1971 and served until May 10, 1977 in the Berlin Brigade. After leaving the service, he had a career in sales, mostly selling circuit boards.
Also surviving are three children, Karrie and Andrew Moore, both of Indianapolis, and Craig (spouse Adrienne) Moore, Fishers; a brother, Thomas Moore, Paragould, Ark.; three sisters: Joann Wozniel, White Pigeon, Mich.; Pam Miller, Goshen; and Marcia Speraw, Mishawaka; and his parents, Budd and Emma Moore, Elkhart.
A service of remembrance will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, with the Rev. Thomas Moore officiating and with military rites by members of the U.S. Army and American Legion Post.
Calling is from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
