David Martin Randall, age 68, Silver Lake, Indiana went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family that he loved on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 3:20 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on December 25, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert Edwin and Sherilyn (Rusmisel) Randall. He graduated from Akron High School in 1968.
David worked at Dalton Foundry in Warsaw, Indiana after high school for one year and then served in the United States Army from September 8, 1969 to March 19, 1971 during the Vietnam War and worked as a Radio Mechanic. He then returned to work at the Dalton Foundry in the Core Room where he was employed for 44 years and retired in 2015.
David married Sharon Kay Smith on December 26, 1987 in Silver Lake, Indiana. He had lived in Silver Lake since 1981 moving there from Akron, Indiana. He was a former member of the Leroy C. Shelton American Legion Post #36 in Rochester, Indiana and attended the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church in Silver Lake, Indiana. He cherished his children and grandchildren and loved the church. He also loved the outdoors and woodworking. David will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving David is his wife: Sharon Randall of Silver Lake; (1) daughter: Karen Lynn (spouse Matthew) Myers of Macy; (2) sons: Gary Lee (spouse Tonya) Randall of Rochester; and Terry Ray Randall of Rochester; (1) brother: Robert (spouse Janice) Randall of Silver Lake; (2) sisters: Gayle McCullough of North Manchester; and Wensday Crist of Silver Lake; (1) step-brother: Robert (spouse Sue) Bershing of Michigan; and (2) step-sisters: Janice Bershing of Ohio; and Sharon (spouse Dick) Harris of Michigan; step-father: Bob Bershing and step-mother: Carla Randall; five grandchildren: Kody and Mason Myers, Gabriel and Noah Randall and Rosalie Randall.
Preceding David in death are his parents and sister, Debra Randall.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 East Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, 303 South Jefferson Street, Silver Lake, Indiana. Officiating will be Rev. Frank Whitaker, Jason Smith and Rev. Matthew Myers. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana with the United States Army and the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard conducting Military Honors.
