Candy J. “Jernigan” Francis, age 42 of Silver Lake, died at 3:25 a.m. on October 23, 2012 in her residence after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.
She was born on March 9, 1970 in Rochester to Michael O. and Cindy L. (Ginther) Jernigan. Candy lived in the Silver Lake area for 12 years.
Candy graduated in 1988 from Rochester High School. She worked as a secretary for Stonehenge Golf Course in Warsaw and was attending Ivy Tech.
Survivors include her parents, Michael and Cindy Jernigan of Rochester; one son, Drew Francis of Silver Lake; one brother, Chad (and spouse Dana) Jernigan of Rochester; and her boyfriend Erik Conley of Silver Lake.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, with Rev. Tom Craig officiating.
Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Hoover Mt. Hope Cemetery, Athens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County.
