Bonita Bruner Obituary

Bonita “Bonnie” Lou Bruner, formally of Akron, Indiana, age 81 died on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Paddock Springs Assisted Living Facility in Warsaw, Indiana at 8:46 p.m.

Bonnie was born to Plen I. and Marjorie M. (Madden) Yoder on May 2, 1940 in Garrett, Indiana.  Growing up in a large family, she had four brothers and three sisters.

She graduated in 1959 from Churabusco High School.

On November 23, 1967, she married Steven Bruner in Warsaw, Indiana.

She moved to Akron in 2009 where she made it her home.  Bonnie’s career was working at Biomet in Warsaw, Indiana and retired in 2007.  She also worked in the Mentone school cafeteria for several years.

She loved flowers and enjoyed painting pictures.  She liked watching game shows and old movies.

Surviving Bonnie is (1) daughter Kristin (spouse Darrell) Shriver of Akron; (1) grandson: Noah Drake Shriver of Warsaw; (2) sister-in-laws: Doris and Marie Yoder; (2) special friends: Shirley Frantz of Warsaw and Beverly Shriver of Akron.

Preceding Bonnie in death were her parents, husband: Steven Bruner (died 2017); (4) brothers; Harold, Allen, Bobbie and Paul Yoder; (3) sisters: Betty Leamon, Neva Lawson and Janet Crowell

As per Bonnie’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.

Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Indiana

For those who wish to honor the memory of Bonnie, memorial contributions may be made to the Mentone Elementary School, 301 E. Jackson Street, Mentone, IN  46539.  Signify that you would like the donation to go to the school lunch program for those that may not have money to cover their lunches.
