Billy L. Yeager
Billy Leroy Yeager, age 79, 401 South Cherry Street, Akron, Indiana died on March 25, 2015 at 6:16 in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
He was born on January 4, 1936 in Leesburg, Indiana to Rev. Victor R. and Clara C. (Barnhart) Yeager. He lived 40 years in Akron coming from Middletown, Connecticut.
Billy graduated from Burket School in 1955. He married Janice C. Miller on September 27, 1959 in Long Beach, California.
He served in the U.S. Navy from January 4, 1956 to July 1, 1975. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years at Akron, Twelve Mile, Logansport and Kokomo. Billy was a member of the VFW #1343, Rochester; American Legion Post #36, Rochester; and the Silver Creek Church of God.
Billy enjoyed going fishing and camping with his grandson, Garrett. He was dedicated to serving his church by delivering CD’s to shut in’s.
Surviving Billy is his wife: Janice C. Yeager of Akron, (3) children: Melinda C. (spouse Norman) Rohrer of San Jose, CA and sons Nathan and Luke; Scott (spouse Mandy) Yeager of Mentone and daughter Olivia; Michelle (spouse Troy) Foust of Mentone and son Garrett and stepchildren: Mistie, KayLa, and Josh of Winamac; (1) sister: Eloise (spouse Max) Beery of Etna Green; (6) step great-grandchildren.
Preceding Billy in death were his parents, (2) brothers: Robert and Paul Yeager; (2) sisters: Kathryn Hibschman and Esther Haney.
The visitation will be on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The service will be on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Silver Creek Church of God at 2:00 p.m. with one hour visitation prior to the service officiated by Rev. Tom Craig and Jim Hibschman. Burial will be at the Silver Creek Church of God cemetery with honors by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
