Ted (Theodore) Wayne Flohr, age 85, rural Akron, Indiana died on Saturday August 11, 2018 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, Indiana at 3:03 p.m.
He was born on November 16, 1932 to Russell and Elsie (Brooks) Flohr in Disko, Indiana. Ted lived all of his life in the Akron area.
Ted married Carol Rogers on September 26, 1948 in Rochester, Indiana. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage next month.
Early on in Ted’s life, he worked at General Tire in Wabash, Indiana. He also sold peat moss and gravel. He loved to hunt and fish plus raising a garden. He would sell his produce to the public through a fruit and vegetable stand and had a blueberry patch at his home that was open to the public at first and then later made it private.
Surviving Ted is his wife: Carol Flohr; (1) son: Mark Flohr of Springfield, Virginia; (1) daughter: Patsy Waymire and fiancé Paul Bahney of Akron, Indiana; (2) brothers: Sam (spouse Wanda) Flohr of Rochester, Indiana and Donald Flohr. He had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding Ted in death are his parents; (1) son: Thomas Flohr; (3) sisters: Sherry Terry, Bonnie Strevy and Judy Mitchell; (2) brothers: Earl and Danny Flohr.
Visitation and viewing will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. The service will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Wayne Balmer and burial will be in the Akron IOOF Cemetery, Akron, Indiana.
