Paul John Kindig

Paul John Kindig, age 86, rural Akron, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2024 at 8:45 a.m. at his residence.

He was born on August 8, 1937 in Akron, Indiana to Byron and Mildred (Steininger) Kindig in the home where he presently lived.

Paul graduated from Akron High School in 1955 and entered into the United States Army serving from September 1960 to August 1962.  He then married Rosemary Perkins on  December 14, 1963 in Lebanon, Indiana.  He has lived his complete life in the Akron area.

He made a living as being a farmer, growing crops of grain and raising cows and hogs.  He enjoyed gardening and was very generous, sharing his produce with his neighbors and friends.

Paul had attended Olive Bethel Church of God and then the Akron Church of God.  He was very active in helping with United We Stand Ministries of Akron, Indiana.  Besides gardening, he enjoyed fishing and fox hunting.

Surviving Paul is his wife: Rosemary of Akron; (1) daughter: Marla Jane Kindig of Akron, IN; (1) son: Timothy Michael Kindig of Bluffton, IN; (1) grandson: Austin Michael (spouse Emily) Kindig of Ossian, IN; (6) great grandchildren: Giovanni, Isabella, Therese, Basil, Aurelia and Oswald.

Preceding Paul was his parents, (2) brothers: Clifford and Larry Kindig, and a daughter-in-law, DeVona Kindig.

Paul’s funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Akron Church of God, 301 S. West Street, Akron, Indiana.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with the service following officiated by Pastor Mandy Nellans.  A committal service and burial will be in the Athens Mount Hope (Hoover) Cemetery, Athens, Indiana.
