Carol A. Tackett

Carol Annette (Poe) Tackett, age 63 of Wabash, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Parkview Wabash Hospital at 10:53 p.m. after a short illness.

She was born to Cecil and Carrie (Burchett) Poe on October 20, 1959 in Warsaw, Indiana.  She lived in North Manchester for 16 years coming from Sidney, Indiana.  Carol retired from Zimmer/Biomet December 2021 after 16 years of service as a group leader in production.

Carol was married to Gaillen Tackett who died in 1994.  She then resided with her companion John Haines for 26 years in North Manchester, Indiana.  Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies.

She is survived by her partner John Haines of North Manchester, IN; (3) daughters: Carrie (spouse Ben) Moore of Wabash, IN; Sharon Cooper of Peru, IN; Kimberly Tackett of North Manchester, IN; (1) son: James Tackett of North Manchester, IN; (4) brothers: George (spouse Pam) Poe of Akron, IN; Cecil (spouse Mary) Poe of Laketon, IN; Harold Poe of Warsaw, IN; Jack (spouse Becky) Poe of North Manchester, IN; (3) sisters: Emma (spouse Greg) Kieffer of Florida; Bonnie Winterrowd of Cromwell, IN; Rose (spouse Rick) Grossnickle of Liberty Mills, IN; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding Carol in death are her parents, (2) brothers: James and John Poe, a grandchild and a great-grandchild Hiro Chaplin.

Viewing and Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2023 at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana 46910 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The funeral service will follow with Pastor Kelly Beutler officiating of Liberty Mills Church of the Brethren.
